Topping at the Seedling Stage Changes the Plant Morphology and Yield of Unbranched Type Soybean

The crop will be free from the control of apical dominance and axillary buds develop into branches after topping. However, there are relatively few studies on this subject soybean. In order to further improve soybean grain yield, unbranched type high-yield variety was used as test material, effects topping at first trifoliate stage plant growth, dry matter accumulation, yield components five planting densities [15 (D1), 18 (D2), 21 (D3), 25 (D4) 30 (D5) × 104 plants ha−1] were systematically investigated in study. results showed that, accumulation increased Flower number per plant, seed pod single-plant decreased conventional-cultivation density (D4, topping), but they all reduced. D2 achieved highest with 100-seed weight by 8.92% 5.90% compared CK nontopping). significantly positively correlated podding node flower plant. This study demonstrates that more formed topping, conducive increasing under lower density.
